STEPABLE · INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS
Build confidence
in the everyday.
An independent-living coach being conceived for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, and other cognitive support needs.

THE EVERYDAY CHALLENGE
StepAble starts
with a real need.
A task described as one instruction—“do the laundry”—contains many smaller decisions. Support needs can vary by task, environment, and day, so guidance should be adjustable rather than fixed.
Offer the amount of guidance a person chooses, with a clear way to repeat, pause, or ask for help.
HOW IT COULD WORK
A thoughtful path
through the moment.
This walkthrough illustrates the intended experience. It describes the product direction, not functionality available on this website.
Choose a familiar activity
Begin with a defined household routine or an errand to prepare for. The intended experience would account for the person’s environment and preferred level of support.
Move one step at a time
Follow a picture or spoken instruction, repeat it, or request more detail. Optional camera assistance is an area to explore, not a working capability.
Adjust the support
Keep helpful prompts and reduce unnecessary ones as confidence develops. Any caregiver access would be optional and permission-controlled.

ACCESSIBILITY & CONTROL
Designed around
the person using it.
Picture-based and spoken guidance, adjustable pace, large usable controls, and repeatable steps would support different cognitive and motor needs.
Privacy, affordability, and user autonomy are shared Biro.dev design principles. Product-specific data practices, supported access methods, and any offline capabilities would be explained before public release.

A clearer picture.
How is this different from AddvancedFocus?
AddvancedFocus centers on deciding what to do and getting started. StepAble would focus on understanding how to carry out a chosen activity, step by step.
Would a caregiver need to monitor every task?
Constant supervision is not the goal. The right level of support depends on the person and the activity; optional caregiver roles would need careful design.
Could camera guidance handle any activity?
No such capability is promised. Camera interpretation can be wrong, and the suitability of an activity would need to be assessed as part of development.
When can I use StepAble?
StepAble is in early concept development. There is no public release date, price, or supported-platform list yet. The next step is to develop and evaluate the intended experience.
